English Haiku

Haiku originated in Japan. It is a short poem consisting of 17 syllables, usually about nature in 5-7-5 format in 3 lines. The beauty of Haiku is in its simplicity, it packs a big punch. Two ideas are presented in juxtaposition.

This form has spread all over the world in many languages in many countries. In English usually it has 7 to 11 syllables. Many write pseudo Haiku where the rules are more relaxed but the spirit of Haiku is maintained.

I hope you will visit my posts regularly to enjoy following topics.
